Overview

The ACM Celebration of Cascadia Women in Computing aims to inspire, empower, and connect women in computer science and technology by fostering an inclusive and dynamic community. Through engaging panels, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities, the event seeks to amplify diverse voices, share knowledge, and pave the way for equitable opportunities and growth in the tech industry.

The 2025 ACM CWIC Conference will take place on Friday, October 24th, 2025 (9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. PT). The event will be held is an interconnected, multi-campus gathering held simultaneously at Northeastern University Seattle, Northeastern University Vancouver, and the University of Victoria. 🌎 2025 Format: Hybrid Across Campuses

This year’s ACM Celebration of Cascadia Women in Computing is an interconnected, multi-campus gathering held simultaneously at Northeastern University Seattle, Northeastern University Vancouver, and the University of Victoria. The schedule reflects sessions coordinated across the three campuses and may vary slightly by time zone or format.

This format accommodates potential visa/travel restrictions and ensures accessibility across regions.

All venues will be live and connected throughout the event.

🎙️ Keynote Speaker

Hon. Brenda Bailey

Hon. Brenda Bailey was first elected as the MLA for Vancouver-False Creek (now called Vancouver-South Granville) in 2020. Brenda was appointed the Minister of Finance in November 2024. She previously served as the Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation. She has also served in the following roles: member of the Finance Committee, member of Treasury Board, Vice-Chair of the Government Committee on Economy, and Chair of the Government Committee on Economy.

Brenda is a serial entrepreneur in the BC creative technology sector. She most recently served as the Executive Director of DigiBC, the Interactive and Digital Media Industry Association of British Columbia, where she worked to strengthen the province’s growing creative tech industry and continued her commitment to bringing more diversity and inclusion to the tech sector. Brenda has degrees in Political Science and Social work, with advanced studies in Business and Law.

Poonam Mor Sigroha

Poonam Mor Sigroha is the Corporate Vice President of Windows Silicon and Systems Integration at Microsoft. Leading a team of talented engineers and product managers, she is responsible for delivering the Windows silicon systems architecture, working across the company and with our industry partners to build the hardware and firmware/software platform for the next generation of Windows devices. She has an established track record of leading multi-disciplinary organizations across Microsoft, including roles in Mesh, Mixed Reality, Xbox Live, XCloud, Microsoft Supply Chain, Windows Embedded, and OEM. She is committed to empowering and supporting diverse talent and building a more inclusive environment.
